Too Soon

Death is something that we can't escape from... getting older means we are supposedly one more step closer to the end of our life on this earth. You might wonder why a 26 year old is thinking about the day that we will cease to exist as we are now... I should be thinking about all the people who have gotten married within the last four years, all of my friends who have progressed into the next steps of their jobs, all of the babies that are being born to my friends and what "big" piece of furniture Dhrumil and I should purchase to make our apartment less of a miss-match of IKEA and hand-me-downs.

Unfortunately in the past year I have known two people who have died way too soon. I have witnessed those they have left behind and what immeasurable pain they are experiencing. Isn't it too soon to have this happen in my life... to have this happen to beautiful, wonderful people who are still at the beginning of their lives? They have been shocked into adulthood by the loss that has impacted them for the rest of their lives. I will never understand why things like this happen. There is no escaping the pain that will continue until it is our turn to go. I can only pray for peace from God and the knowledge that one day we will all meet again.

It's been a year...

I can't believe it has been almost a year since I have updated this blog. I guess the facebook world took over and I forgot there was more to life than that... ;-) Well I'm back and I will start to update on more of a consistent basis. So much has happened this year and like every year of my life I have grown so much.

My new camera

I got a new camera from my love for Christmas... here are some of the pictures I have taken so far...

Silence

It was silent except for the noise coming from the flat screen tvs on the trading floor. It seemed as if the corporate world had been put on hold for a moment. Work was forgotten, desks were empty and there was no cheerful banter around the water cooler. I looked around for a moment wondering where all had gone until I found all of my coworkers gathered around the tvs, silent. Wait, was the world coming to an end? NO our CEO was on msnbc talking about a product we trade.

Ok my story didn't end very well, but it was pretty crazy to see... or not. Just another moment in the corporate life.

Moving On

Life has been crazy the past two weeks. Dhrumil and I made a quick decision (after pondering a few weeks) to move in the middle of finals, gmats, work, christmas and driving to Indiana! We have been packing up our apartment the past week and a half and feel pretty good about dropping our stuff off and taking the LOOOONG treck to Indy.
We are only moving one town over, but to me it feels like a different state. I was spoiled by the small New England town atmosphere ever since my parents moved to CT, but we were ready to move to a larger apartment.
I HAD to have a Christmas tree (we decided to move after it) and we only had it up 2 weeks, but we got to enjoy it. It's going to be bittersweet leaving a town we know and our first apartment, but exciting continuing our life in a different place.
